I Get It Because I Lived It
I know exactly how it feels to hide in plain sight. For years, I was the queen of over-polishing my message. I spent 17 years telling stories in the TV industry, developing shows for Netflix, Hulu, HGTV, Bravo, TLC… and helping others shine on screen while I hid comfortably behind the camera. I had the “perfect” career on paper… but, I was playing a supporting role in my own life.
Until one day, I couldn’t do it anymore. I was finally done building stories around everyone else while ignoring my own. Leaving TV wasn’t just a career shift, it was me taking back my power.
Inside, I was dying to say what I really felt. But I was scared of rocking the boat, of being truly seen and possibly rejected. So I started showing up on social media but found that the same pattern followed me there. I’d write a post and then edit it so I wouldn’t be seen as weird or goofy. In other words, I stripped the life out of what I was sharing. Sure, I was visible, but I wasn’t showing up fully.
My breaking point came when I realized that following all the “right” strategies was building a business I didn’t even recognize as mine. One day, it hit me: if I have to mute myself to be successful, I don’t want this success at all.
I went from feeling like an imposter in my own life to owning my power as a leader of my business and my story.
This isn’t a polished bio filled with fancy accolades. This is my truth: I’ve been where you are. And now I’m here to be your guide on a journey I know by heart. One from self-censorship and doubt to no holds barred self-trust and expression.
